This bride, Darla, truly is a survivor and a warrior. When we first met in the fall of 2021, she was battling Lupus. Of course, when we first met it was smack dab during the pandemic. Being immunocompromised, we decided it was best to have our first meeting outside. It was close to Halloween and when I pulled up to the house, I have to admit I was a little scared to walk into their doorway. What the hell was going to jump out at me? It truly is a must see and I’ll be bringing my son again to check out what they do for years to come. I was greeted with the biggest smile and tiny blue bird and we quickly went into the backyard where the BEST firepit waited for us. Travis and Darla have built themselves a beautiful home that extended to what I can only describe as an oasis in their backyard.
The women I met that day to the women who walked down the aisle was an incredible transformation. She fought, she battled and she won. They both love to travel and live life to the fullest. Travis is this easy going, in for anything and a perfect gentleman with an amazing smile. Let’s not forget Pip the bird. Their wedding day must have been the hottest day in August. Being at the U of A gardens, out in the open, all guest hid in the shade until it was time for the main event. As they all sat down this beautiful person walked down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face.
