Meet Natalie

I love thinking outside the box and being creative. It’s your wedding and helping you find your style, changing a cookie cutter wedding into a more personalized all about you day is what we do best. We want to create an experience and tell your love story. Your wedding day is more than just stuff it’s a commitment that already exists that you want to share and celebrate with the people closest to you. ​

Lighthouse Weddings started out of boredom, grew out of tragedy and sustained because of love. Almost ten years ago, (wow has it been that long?) while on mat leave, dead of winter, I needed a creative outlet. I decided to take the WPIC program. What’s WPIC you ask? Wedding Planner Institute of Canada. Yes, I’m a legit wedding planner! Excitement and fear quickly set it because that meant I had to be vulnerable and more out there. Don’t get me wrong I’m a little weird and out there… with my friends and family. At first, believe it or not, it was the most uncomfortable thing to introduce myself to new people. In the process I’ve met some amazing people and happy to report, although still awkward at times, I’m much better at talking.

A few years prior to starting my business suicide became part of my vocabulary. I lost my father and I might as well have lost my mother. Our relationship suffered as she tried to cope with the loss. It was time to build our relationship and be the badass mom and daughter duo we once were. I took her on a few meetings and photo shoots and for the first 2 years she helped me designed and create some amazing weddings. The long hours were to much for her and she decided to step back but I often lean on her for advice. To this day I still think of my business as a mother/daughter combo. Just recently I took her on a concept shoot and she loved it so much she can’t wait for the next one.

I love what I do and the people I get to do it with. This is a milestone in people lives and I get to be a part of it! How amazing is that? Not too many people get the opportunity to say this. Every wedding is different and special in their own way. I love thinking outside the box and being creative. It’s your wedding and helping you find your style, changing a cookie cutter wedding into a more personalized all about you day is what we do best. We want to create an experience and tell your love story. Your wedding day is more than just stuff it’s a commitment that already exist that you want to share and celebrate with the people closest to you.

What’s makes me different? Life doesn’t always go the way that you want it, but the journey has to be worth it. I’m willing to work with any budget and help out where ever I can. Would I love to do the 60G- 100G weddings, be in magazine and travel the world? ABSOLUTELY. I always strive to do better, learn new things and put myself out there. My trust my faith will take me to the best couples out there. Everyone deserves the best wedding day they can possibly imagine.

How did I come up with the name? Sitting at my kitchen table trying to figure out a catchy name. My husband came around the corner and kissed my forehead and said, “You’ll figure it out, think of something that means something to YOU.” So, I looked around… I saw my son, a wonderful man I call my husband and on every wall of our home are pictures of lighthouses. We had an amazing wedding, but we have an even more beautiful marriage. Through stormy waters and rough nights, we stand tall, on a solid foundation, guided by our light and withstanding the test of time.

  • Pet peeves- I shake my head every time I see a selfie and what I call duck lips
  • I speak French
  • And my favorite animal is a dolphin
